Doris is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Pete Kelsey of Moravia; two sons, Steven M. Meeks and Daniel R. Meeks; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Loving and precious memories were shared by all, especially Tammy Matthews, Kristi Matthews and her fiance, Steve LeRoy, John Matthews, Katrina Matthews, Cody Farrell and Austin LeRoy. Doris has four brothers, Robert Van Horn, Alonzo Van Horn Jr. (Bunky), Louis Van Horn and John Churchill. Doris was a kind, loving, Christian lady who enjoyed life, including wildlife, flowers and all aspects of the earth and the universe. She was an avid painter and will be sadly missed, but always remembered. A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, in St. Matthew"s Church, 18 Church St., Moravia. Friends may send contributions to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021.

Doris died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at home with family and Hospice by her side. She was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Wolcott, the daughter of the late Alonzo Sr. and Mabel Van Horn.
