    Mrs. McCanlis age 80, of Fort Walton Beach, died in a local hospital on Tues. July 10, 2007. She was born on July 22, 1926 , in Lauderdale County, Miss. to William Abner and Sarah Ethel Galyean. She had been a resident of the local area since 1969 when she moved here with her husband from Korea as a Military Wife. She was Baptist by faith. She always loved having her family near. She especially looked forward to the yearly family reunion at the beach. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
    Survivors include her daughters, Pamela Avera and her husband, Larry, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. and Cindy Blackmon of Mary Esther, Fl.; son; John McCanlis of Moss Point, Miss.; grandchildren; John William McCanlis, Whitney McCanlis, Courtney McCanlis, Linsay Avera, China Carnathan and great-grandchild Korven Avera.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years,Robert; brother; Aubrey Galyean, and sister; Zelma Fink.
