HILLSBORO, Ore. - Mr. Martin "Marty" E. Conboy, 62, of Austin Drive, Hillsboro, Ore., died Friday, July 30, 1999, in Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center, Portland, Ore.
Mr. Conboy was born on May 7, 1937 in Auburn, the son of Philip J. and M. Elizabeth Maloney Conboy. He received a bachelor's degree in business from San Diego State University and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Conboy was employed for over 35 years by the Federal Civil Service as a program manager working with the Navy's marine mammal projects in San Diego, Calif. and Kaneohe, Hawaii. He had retired in 1995, and recently relocated to Portland, Ore., after many years in Hawaii. While in Hawaii, he was active with the International Association of Lions in Honolulu.
Mr. Conboy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Conboy of Hillsboro, Ore; three sons, Michael J. Conboy of San Diego, Calif., Richard J. of Littleton, Colo., David B. of Thousand Oaks, Calif; one daughter, Nancy Miller of Portland, Ore; two stepsons, Gregory L. Allen of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Tim E. Allen, of Bremerton, Wash; one brother, the Rev. Michael F. Conboy of Corning; three sisters, Margaret Conboy of Long Beach, Calif., Marcia Alissandrello of Skaneateles, Maureen Conboy-Ray of Auburn, Marcella Gosey of Oxon Hill, Md; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren, one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, in Farrell's Funeral Home, 84 South St., Auburn. Family prayers will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4 in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church. The mass will be celebrated by his brother, the Rev. Michael F. Conboy. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Aurora.
