• Decker yDNA Project yDNA testing has revealed that James Henry Decker is not a direct descendant of Aaron Decker. Subsequent testing suggests the break in the DNA line occurred with Lydia Forbes, Aaron's first wife, who was apparently 3-4 months pregnant at the time of the marriage. Area for future research will include investigation of two Stokes families who lived in Wayne Co. and in Montezuma, near the Decker families. yDNA has produced a very close match for a Stokes family and Family Finder testing for James has also shown a possible 3rd cousin relationship with a person with a Stokes ancestor. Several Stokes infants are buried in a small cemetery on the Decker farm in Montezuma.
  • Houston yDNA Project This Houston study page has VERY limited information. The major content of the study is in a private, password protected site. Even the number assigned to our results in this chart changes as new members are added, but our yDNA Houston DYS results are included in the chart here. If you visit The Sorenson Molecular Genealogical Research Foundation's website at smgf.org, and enter these numbers, (use FTDNA format on entry page) you will be able to compare to other participants in their study.

    mtDNA results for the maternal line go back to Margaret Forster or Foster born in Ireland. The informant on the death certificate for Jane Somerville Henderson, stating Martha Dale, sister, brings into question the actual line of descent, but in either event, should Martha Henderson Dale be the dsughter or sister of Jane Somerville, the family mtDNA would be the same.
