     Francis James Shaw was born on 12 August 1859 at Fayette, Seneca, New York.^1,2 He was the son of David J. Shaw and Anna Hanour Souhan. Francis James Shaw was christened on 15 July 1860 at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, Seneca, New York, Birth Records at St. Patrick's show two entries for birth: July 6, 1859 and July 15, 1860 with the same sponsors. One of these dates may actually be a birth date and the second a christening. However, all of David and Anna's other children who were christened in the same church have only one entry a piece.¹ He married Elizabeth Stella Dougherty, daughter of John Dougherty and Elizabeth Boehler, on 1 September 1881 at Auburn, Cayuga, New York. Francis James Shaw died on 11 August 1936 at Auburn, Cayuga, New York, at age 76; Myocarditis³he was buried on 14 August 1936 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming, Cayuga, New York.⁴
