Gary Robert Charlton was born on 27 May 1950.¹ He was the son of Charles Charlton and Joyce Sutliff. Gary Robert Charlton died on 29 June 2004 at Wichita Falls, Texas, at age 54; WEEDSPORT - Gary R. Charlton, 54, formerly of Weedsport, died Tuesday in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born in Syracuse and lived in Electra, Texas for the past 10 years. He retired after 29 years with the Air Force National Guard and was employed by New Venture Gear from 1972 to1994.

He is survived by his father, Charles Charlton; his wife of eight years, the former Kathy Clarkson of Electra, Texas; his son, Gary R. (Sharon) Charlton II of Auburn; his daughters, Stacey (Donald Jr.) Wetmore of Weedsport and Laurie (Jeffrey) Gilfus of Auburn; five grandchildren, Rochelle, Kaylea and Donald Joseph Wetmore and Steven and Sydney Gilfus; a sister Judy (John) Sabene of North Syracuse and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Joyce (Sutliff) Charlton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Jankowiak officiating. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
