     Thomas Francis Scranton married Miriam Hulda Slafter, daughter of Ray Augustine Slafter and Martha Renden. Thomas Francis Scranton was born on 14 October 1894 at Utica, Oneida, New York.¹ He was the son of Albert L. Scranton and Roseann Kinsella. Thomas Francis Scranton married Roxie Paul on 25 September 1922 at Chicago, Cook, Illinois.¹ Thomas Francis Scranton died on 9 July 1959 at Utica, Oneida, New York, at age 64.¹
     He witnessed the marriage of Edna Scranton and Harry Thomas Moore on 20 July 1914 at St. Agnes Church, Utica, Oneida, New York.² Thomas Francis Scranton appeared on the census of 12 April 1930 at 860 Barry, Chicago, Cook, Illinois; This looks like correct family, but it states bothof Thomas's parents were b. in Pennsylvania. However, all of the names found in his wife and children, and the age and birth in NY suggest it is probably him. Although Thomas is still at home with his mother, and no spouse is given in the 1920 census, he is listed with a marital status as "M and in the household is a Thomas, who is the correct age to be this Thomas, son, 14, b. NY." All of this information would support the possibility that we are looking at the same individual. Also, a search of available databases for the 1920 census does not yield any other Thomas who would be the same age.

     Elizabeth D. Scranton was born on 24 October 1890.² She was the daughter of Albert L. Scranton and Roseann Kinsella. Elizabeth D. Scranton married William G. Phillips on 14 July 1915 at St. Agnes Church, Utica, Oneida, New York.^3,4 Elizabeth D. Scranton died on 2 July 1972 at Syracuse, Onondaga, New York, at age 81; Services for Elizabeth D. Phillips of 854 Fay Rd., Syracuse,formerly of College Hill Rd., Clinton, NY, who died Sunday in a Syracuse hospital, will be held at 9 am Thursday from the Heintz Funeral Home in E. Clinton and at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Robert J. Coffey of Syracuse whith whom she has made her home, a son, Robert B. Phillips of Solvay, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Bower, of Utica.^2,5 She was buried on 6 July 1972 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton, Oneida, New York.⁶
