     J. Edward DeForest was born on 22 December 1865 at 643 Bleeker St., Utica, Oneida, New York.^1,2 He was the son of James Edward DeForest and Harriett Matilda Scranton.¹ J. Edward DeForest married Nettie Wilsey, daughter of William Wilsey, on 31 August 1887.³ J. Edward DeForest and Nettie Wilsey were divorced circa 6 January 1895.⁴ J. Edward DeForest married Jessie E. Stevenson, daughter of John Stevenson and Helen (?), on 18 June 1901.⁵ J. Edward DeForest died on 2 September 1932 at 843 Bleeker St., Utica, Oneida, New York, at age 66.^6,7

     William G. Phillips was born on 16 January 1889 at Oriskany, Oneida, New York.^1,2,3 He married Elizabeth D. Scranton, daughter of Albert L. Scranton and Roseann Kinsella, on 14 July 1915 at St. Agnes Church, Utica, Oneida, New York.^4,5 William G. Phillips died on 27 August 1972 at Syracuse, Onondaga, New York, at age 83; Mr. William G. Phillips, 84, of 854 Fay Rd., Westvale, died at Community-General Hospital. He made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Robert Coffey the last several years.
Mr. Phillips formerly resided in Old Forge and Clinton. He was born in Oriskany.
He was employed by Central New York Supply Co. for 10 years before his retirement in 1962. He had also been employed by Savage Arms Corp.
His wife,Mrs. Elizabeth Scranton Phillips died last month.
He was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church and is amember of it's St. Joseph's Guild. Surviving, besides his daughter, are a son, William B. Phillips of Solvay and a sister, Mrs. Otto Pletsch, of Utica and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at St. Mary's Church and burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton.³ He was buried on 30 August 1972 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton, Oneida, New York.⁶

     Harry Thomas Moore was born on 5 April 1893 at Whitesboro, Oneida, New York.^2,1 He was the son of Thomas P. Moore and Lois A. (?). Harry Thomas Moore married Edna Scranton, daughter of Francis P. Scranton and Matilda Shorer, on 20 July 1914 at St. Agnes Church, Utica, Oneida, New York.³ Harry Thomas Moore died on 7 December 1968 at Binghamton, Broome, New York, at age 75.³

     Helen Marie Scranton was born in December 1897 at Dalton, Berkshire, Massachusetts; Marie's birthdate from the 1900 census, would make her born more than a year after Francis Scranton's death. There is a year's descrepency in the dates for Beulah between the cemetery record and the census and the obituary indicates Jan of 1898, so the date of Dec 1898 probably should be 1897.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Francis P. Scranton and Matilda Shorer. Helen Marie Scranton died on 24 March 1903 at 95 Taylor Ave., Utica, Oneida, New York, at age 5.³

     Infant Bradford died after 1858.² Infant Bradford was born after 1858.¹ Infant Bradford was the child of William Bradford and Mary Jane Scranton.¹

     Cedora Van Gaasbeck was born in September 1858 at Ohio.² She married Adolphus B. Scranton, son of Stephen Scranton and Sophrona Stockings, on 12 March 1873 at Jefferson, Montgomery, Kansas.¹ Cedora Van Gaasbeck died on 21 February 1910 at Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, at age 51.³

     M. Eugene Scranton was born on 4 April 1902 at Utica, Oneida, New York.^2,3 He was the son of Albert L. Scranton and Roseann Kinsella.² M. Eugene Scranton married Gertrude A. Cavanaugh on 23 July 1922.^4,1 M. Eugene Scranton died on 3 September 1937 at 115 Barton Ave., Utica, Oneida, New York, at age 35.⁵

     Clara Agnes Mohr was born circa 1878 at New York.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Mohr and Lena Buckolz. Clara Agnes Mohr married Arthur Chase DeForest, son of James Edward DeForest and Harriett Matilda Scranton, on 20 June 1900 at At the home of J. E. DeForest, 711 Mary St., Utica, Oneida, New York.^2,3

     Jessie E. Stevenson was born on 8 November 1868 at Albany, Albany, New York.^1,2 She was the daughter of John Stevenson and Helen (?). Jessie E. Stevenson married J. Edward DeForest, son of James Edward DeForest and Harriett Matilda Scranton, on 18 June 1901.² Jessie E. Stevenson died on 18 May 1955 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica, Oneida, New York, at age 86; Mrs. Jessie E. DeForest, 86, of 1426 Taylor, died May 18, 1955, in St. Elizabeth Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Albany, Nov. 7, 1868, daughter of John and Helen Stevenson. She was married to J. Edward DeForest on June 18, 1901. Mr. DeForest died Feb. 9, 1932. She attended Bethany Presbyterian Church for many years and was a memeber of the Bethany adult Bible class, the church's ladies aid society, women's missionary society, and the Bethany Home Bureau unit. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Richard Barnes, Waterville, and Miss Jessie Beauchamp, Elmira. The funeral will be at 10 Saturday from the Surridge & Roberts Memorial HOme, 144 EAgle, the Rev. Henry D. Smith officiating. Burial will be in New Forest Cemetery.³

     Frances Julia Finster was born circa 1889 at New York.¹ She was the daughter of John Finester and Mary Pfeiffer. Frances Julia Finster married Albert Raymond Scranton, son of Albert L. Scranton and Roseann Kinsella, on 30 June 1915 at St. Mary's Church, Rome, Oneida, New York.²

     Gordon Eugene Scranton was born on 2 June 1916 at New York.^1,2 He was the son of Albert Raymond Scranton and Frances Julia Finster. Gordon Eugene Scranton married Catherine A. Owens, daughter of Owen Owens and Mary Williams, on 7 October 1939.³ Gordon Eugene Scranton died on 15 April 1970 at Utica, Oneida, New York, at age 53; Obituary lists two survivors.⁴

     John W. Scranton is the son of Albert Raymond Scranton and Frances Julia Finster. John W. Scranton married Jean Quinn on 3 February 1942 at Utica, Oneida, New York.² John W. Scranton married Clairene Greene, daughter of Faith (?), in February 1946 at Southern Hotel, Columbus, Franklin, Ohio.³
